Description

Here is an animation of the "Magma Eruption in the Chromosphere" image I uploaded eariler.

New Equipment:

I took this series of videos for animation using my new Astro Hutech Hinode Solar Guider. After installing the software for the Guider, the initial setup was easy as pressing 4 buttons. Select the port, connect, calibrate, guide. The Guider uses the ST4 port on my EQ6-R mount to track the Sun.

Before the Guider, I had to make small adjustments after every sub to keep it on center that got very tiresome after a while. This time, I went inside to enjoy some lunch while the telescope did its thing.

Acquisition Notes:

- 70 minutes in Real Time using 101 subs at 500 frames per sub with a 25 second interval.
- Exposure rate of 4.21ms and a Gain of 0 with the Histogram bottoming out around 70%.
- My frame rate is 130 frames per second.
- GIF is 5.94 seconds at 17 frames per second ran in forward and reverse.

Post:

The GIF file is fairly large at 43MB and pushing the limits of my AB subscription of 50MB. I have another version that is 17MB, less processed, but just as good if anyone is having problems viewing the large GIF file. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated on determining the file size of future animations.

Thanks!
